What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Sites can also save information in your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way. This policy covers both. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your data.
Your choice
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a Google consent message asks for your choice when you first visit, and analytics and ad cookies are used only if you agree. To change your choice at any time, use “Change cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The test still works without them. You can find out how at https://www.allaboutcookies.org/.
Necessary
These keep the site working and remember your choices, so they don’t need consent.
- FCCDCF, FCNEC (Google consent message): remember your cookie choice.
- __cf_bm (Cloudflare): can be set to tell people from automated traffic.
- hs_theme (this site, local storage): remembers your light or dark mode choice.
- agetest-own-result (this site, local storage): remembers which result is your own.
Analytics
These help us see how the site is used. Google’s own information is at Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on.
- _ga, _ga_FHECDRBMWV (Google Analytics): tell visits apart and count them.
Advertising
Google AdSense and its advertising partners use these on the homepage and on result pages to show ads, limit how often you see them and measure them. If you agree, they can also use them to personalize ads based on your activity on this and other sites.
- __gads, __gpi, IDE (Google AdSense, DoubleClick), and cookies from Google’s advertising partners, which the consent message lists.
You can find out more at how Google uses cookies in advertising, and at Your Online Choices.
